Racism through the eyes of youth - Nottingham

Reya El-Salahi

Available for over a year

How young is too young to teach children about racism? A Nottingham nursery is teaching children as young as three about Stephen Lawrence. Children at James Peacock Infant and Nursery School in Ruddington are believed to be some of the youngest in the country learning about the murder of the black teenager. Sally Squires is a teacher at the school, where she runs a Stephen Lawrence Steering Group along with Jayne Henson – they both joined Â鶹Éç Radio Nottingham’s Reya El-Salahi to talk through their approach and the response from Doreen Lawrence.
