Son of the first man up Everest

Double Take

Available for over a year

Sixty years ago Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary became the first people to conquer Everest, the world's highest mountain. News of their achievement did not reach the outside world until 2 June, the eve of the Queen's coronation. Many had tried to scale Everest before and failed - some dying in the process. Over the past sixty years, hundreds more have reached the top - and sadly, many more have died on the slopes. Tenzing Norgay's son, Jamling, talks about the huge role Everest has played in his life.
