Blind charity seeks BME volunteers in Leicester

Dulcie Dixon

Available for over a year

When was the last time you had an eye-test? Action for Blind People says people from Black and African Caribbean backgrounds have an increased chance of being affected by glaucoma and at an earlier age than people of European descent. So the charity is recruiting volunteers from Leicester to help promote good eye-health and learn how early diagnosis can make a difference in limiting sight loss. On Dulcie Dixon's show this week, Â鶹Éç Radio Leicester reporter Kevin Ncube spoke Andy Buchan, the area operations manager for Action for Blind People, about their Big Lottery funding grant.
