Do Asian businesses face discrimination from banks?

Kaval Vaseer

Available for over a year

An Asian business group is accusing Britain's banks of discrimination. The National Asian Business Association says many of its members are being refused loans because of a lack of cultural awareness. However, a government report which looked at the lack of finance for ethnic minorities in business has revealed that there is no basis to the allegations. The report's conclusions come nearly two years after the now Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, warned of 鈥渂arriers preventing black and minority groups from accessing loans鈥 and launched the inquiry. In this excerpt, Chairman of the National Asian Business Association, Uday Dholakia, who was at the meeting with Nick Clegg when the findings were presented, speaks to 麻豆社 Radio Notttingham鈥檚 Kaval Vaseer鈥.
