Nesta McGregor

Available for over a year

A prayer service has been held in London to remember those affected by the four-day siege on Nairobi's Westgate shopping centre. At least 72 people are now known to have been killed during the attack including 6 Britons. Flowers and messages were left outside the Kenyan Embassy in London, as Kenyans began 3 days of mourning. Somali groups in the UK have condemned the deadly attack by Al Shabab. Dini Mohammed, from Luton, is director of the Aaran Foundation which advises the Somali and British governments. In this extract he tells Nesta McGregor how Al Shabab had been able to develop in Somalia.
