Dieudonne: Banning blacks from Britain

Reya El-Salahi

Available for over a year

The controversial French comedian at the centre of the Nicolas Anelka anti-semitism row has been banned from entering Britain. Dieudonne M'bala M'bala was planning to visit London to support Anelka, who faces disciplinary action by the FA for performing an alleged anti-Semitic gesture. The French-Cameroonian comic's ban comes just weeks after the Home Secretary Theresa May failed to stop Gabor Vona, the leader of the Hungarian Jobbik Party from visiting Britain to hold a far-right rally. In this extract, Weyman Bennett from Unite Against Fascism tells the 麻豆社's Reya El-Salahi that the government's exclusion order is unfairly targeting people of African and Caribbean descent. In response, a Home Office spokesperson said: "The Home Secretary will seek to exclude an individual from the UK if she considers that there are public policy or public security reasons to do so."
