Skin-tight space suit ‘mimics gravity’

World Update

Available for over a year

In space, weightlessness can be damaging to astronauts - without the force of gravity pushing down on their bodies, their spines begin to lengthen. So scientists have come up with a suit that mimics the effects of gravity. Dr David Green is senior lecturer in human and aerospace physiology at King's College London, and is working on the suit.
