Newshour

Available for over a year

It is hard to believe that Castrillo Matajudios in northern Spain has not changed its name before now. Translated into English it means: “Castrillo Kill Jews” – a name that dates back to 1035. This week, 60 residents of the village will vote on a proposal to change it. Rodrigo Desayaez is a Spanish historian and author of the book State Racism. (Photo: The entrance to Castrillo Matajudios.
