Health official: UK must 'remain vigilant' about Ebola

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

A senior health official has warned the UK to "remain vigilant" about the outbreak of Ebola in West Africa. Paul Costford, Director of Health Protection for Public Health England, said the risk to the UK was low but systems should be put in place to deal with the problem "should it come about". The Ebola virus, which has a 90% death rate, has killed more than 670 people in West Africa since March. First broadcast on 5 live News on Wednesday 30 July 2014.
