'Immediate action' needed for stranded Iraqi Christians

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Thousands of Christians, many of them children, are trapped on a mountain in Northern Iraq after fleeing Islamist militants. It comes as a quarter of Iraqi Christians reportedly flee a northern province after the capture of the largely Christian city of Qaraqosh by the Islamic State group. Savina Dawood is a Christian living in Irbil, Kurdistan, where many of the refugees have fled. She says the refugees have no food, cold water or money and need "immediate action" from the international community. This clip is originally from Drive on Thursday 7th August 2014.
