Meet two of the most exciting novelists in the world today in a session chaired by Daniel Hahn. Javier Cercas is an Independent Foreign Fiction Prize-winner and returns with Outlaws, a superbly plotted story of three teenage outsiders in post-Franco Spain. Michel Laub’s Diary of the Fall has won major prizes in Brazil, and now readers of the English edition can see why: this story of love between father and son is gorgeous and heartbreaking. Â鶹Éç Arts is showcasing some of the most exciting new talent appearing at this year’s Edinburgh Book Festival featuring authors appearing under its ‘First Book Award’ umbrella. It is a chance to hear both debut authors and international writers newly translated into English, who promise to take literary Edinburgh by storm.
