Sir John Major has paid tribute to the former Irish Prime Minister, Albert Reynolds, who has died aged 81. The pair signed the 1993 Downing Street Declaration that paved the way for the Good Friday Agreement. Sir John said "without Albert it (the peace process) would not have got off the ground" and that he was a prime minister who was "commited to ending bloodshed".
