Face blindness sufferer: 'I didn't recognise my wife'

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

One in 50 people in the UK has prosopagnosia - often described as face blindness. It means they can't recognise familiar faces and sometimes even their own relatives. The NHS has recently recognised the condition. David Bromley has suffered from the conditions for 14 years after suffering a brain hemorrhage. He told 5 live Breakfast it was upsetting for his wife and for himself when he mistook her for a stranger. This clip is from 5 live Breakfast, 11 September 2014.
