Home Office says race hate crime is up

There has been an increase in hate crime in England and Wales according to the latest figures published by the Home Office. Race hate crimes went up four per cent with around 37 thousand incidents last year. Another set of figures show there has also been a big jump in religious hate crime with over two thousand incidents last year, an increase of 45 per cent. In this extract Tafazal Mohammad the co-ordinator for the Building Bridges project speaks to the Âé¶¹Éç Radio Leeds presenter Mussy Abbasi about how they are tackling the problem in West Yorkshire.
