The pregnant woman abandoned by an Ebola ambulance

Newsday

Available for over a year

A fearful Ebola ambulance driver in Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone, dumped a woman in a field instead of driving her home. Although she had left hospital with an Ebola discharge card, both he and other residents were too fearful to help the woman, who was merely pregnant - although also very ill with another sickness. She was found, sheltering under an umbrella in the sweltering heat, by Â鶹Éç correspondent Umaru Fofana, who takes up her story.
