Greek snap election sparks bailout fears

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras is forced into calling a snap general election after fellow MPs rejected, for a third time, his nomination for presidential candidate. With anti-austerity party Syriza leading in the polls, there are fears the election's result could jeopardise the country's bailout package, negotiated with the EU and IMF in return for strict spending cuts. We ask Syriza MP Zoe Konstantopoulou what her party would do if it wins power. As Greece moves to the edge of the eurozone, Lithuania is about to become a new member. So is it a good time to join? We have a special report from Vilnius. And what was it like to be a central banker during the 2008 financial crisis? We hear from two of the most important - former US Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, and former Bank of England Governor Mervyn King.
