Oldham fans argue about Ched Evans possible signing

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

A couple from Oldham argue about the potential signing of the convicted rapist Ched Evans to Oldham Athletic. Stuart Hughes argues that "it's not about a person. It's about a business" but his wife Stephanie says that it's a "ridiculous" and Ched Evans "is not a role model for young people." Former Sheffield United striker Ched Evans has been without a club since serving a prison sentence for rape. He's always maintained his innocence. The 麻豆社 understands he's in talks with League One club Oldham Athletic. Twenty thousand people have now signed a petition calling for Oldham not to sign him. This clip is originally from 5 live Breakfast on January 5th 2015.
