Gunmen have attacked the Paris office of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 people and wounding seven, French officials say. The satirical weekly has courted controversy in the past – in November 2011 the magazine was firebombed a day after it carried a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad. Parisian political analyst, Dominique Moisi, said the shooting was a “deeply shocking” attack on what made France a “free, open, democratic society”. “It’s an attack on freedom to criticise anything, everyone,” he said. “This is the essence of what we are that they are choosing to attack in the most barbaric manner.” This clip is originally from 5 live Daily on Wednesday 7 January 2015.
