Phillips: 'Henderson is good, but no Gerrard'

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has announced he will leave Anfield to join Los Angeles Galaxy in July, with many expecting Jordan Henderson to fill the 34-year-old's role. Match of the Day commentator Guy Mowbray and ex-England striker Kevin Phillips discuss Gerrard's departure. When asked if Henderson will increase his goal tally in the future, Phillips replied "Steve's a natural goal scorer, he can score goals from everywhere. Jordan is a fantastic player." "I believe he could make a great Liverpool captain, but he's not Steven Gerrard. He's irreplaceable." This clip is from 5 live sport on Wednesday 7 January 2015.
