The people of Quorn have for decades had their own swimming pool in the village on the site of what is now Rawlins Academy. Originally built thanks to funds raised by villagers back in the 1960's, control was handed to the local education authority in the mid 70s after which it remained a treasured part of the school and the whole community for decades. However, nobody has actually swum in the pool for the best part of five years after maintenance problems forced it to close in 2010.
