He’s been to Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan, and survived being “shot at a lot”. So Buster, the retired military dog, is no stranger to danger. He has served the most campaigns in combat – sniffing out bombs for a reward no more than a tennis ball. But Buster has a softer side too, providing a “great source of comfort” by snuggling up to young soldiers serving in Afghanistan. His handler, RAF police Sergeant Will Barrow, said: “He’ll make friends with them.
