The Roland TR-808 drum machine is one of the most distinct, influential and beloved instruments of the early 1980s. Marvin Gaye used it in "Sexual Healing" and Afrika Bambaataa in "Planet Rock". But it was discontinued after just three years in 1983. Now a new documentary honours the 808 drum machine. Graham Massey is one of the musicians who features in the documentary and Alex Dunn, is the director. (Photo: Afrika Bambaataa. Credit: Alamy)
