More over 65's becoming carers than ever

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Someone that might need care themselves is instead caring for someone even older, says Chloe Wright from Carers UK. Speaking to 5 live Breakfast, Ms Wright said funding is not keeping up with Britain's aging population, with carers finding themselves on the "sharp end" of health and social care integration. Research carried out by charities Age UK and Carers UK shows the number of carers in England aged 85 and over have more than doubled in the past ten years. This clip is originally from 5 live Breakfast on Thursday 30 April 2015.
