Tim Rowberry lived at the Lichfield Vaults Pub in Church Street in Hereford next to the cathedral. The pub was run by his parents. Tim remembers the street party in Church Street where all of the shopkeepers and local residents hung bunting across every inch of the street. "Church Street was the best street in the town on that day as it's such a narrow street and everybody had flags so it was full.鈥 His father made a Siegfried Line using their washing and also hung a dummy of Hitler upside down with a sign saying "beer garden" in German. The piece is recorded in the pub.
