Events are taking place today in Belgium to mark the hundredth anniversary of the part the Leicestershire Yeomanry played in the Battle of Frezenburg near the town of Ypres in 1915. Two-hundred-and-eighty-one men fought to hold the line against the advance of the German Army. 94 were killed, and 93 wounded. It was a battle fought with the utmost gallantry and courage. Ben Jackson has been in the area for the last few days, and spent yesterday with the Leicester Tigers regimental historian Richard Lane finding out some of the other actions undertaken by men from the county.
