The dolls with disabilities

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

A British toy manufacturer has launched a range of 3D-printed dolls with disabilities, in an attempt to improve diversity in children's toy boxes. Communications manager Jen Bolton said the dolls were "inspired" by the online campaign 'Toy Like Me', which criticises the limited representations of adults available for young children. She said that toys have an impact on children's learning, and that "if you want to have a doll look like you, it's important that that's an option". This clip is originally from 5 live Breakfast Sunday 17 May 2015.
