Philip and Victoria Sherlock were forced to sleep in their own car after becoming homeless. Philip was unable to work following a stomach operation and the couple could not afford anywhere else to live. They had hoped to get help from their local council but "kept getting knocked back". Victoria was still in full-time work and said she "used baby wipes to freshen up" and kept it a secret from her colleagues.
