FIFA The Movie: A Critical Review

Not by the Playbook

Available for over a year

The timing is exquisite. Friday saw a handful of American cinemas premier a film called "United Passions". Starring Hollywood names... it tells the story of an organisation that's been a force for good: FIFA. Yes - the no warts at all film, which cost millions of dollars was largely financed by FIFA itself. It has the blessing of its soon to be ex-President Sepp Blatter, who is played by Tim Roth. The film has already been shown in a handful of other countries, but now it's made its way - like the corruption allegations - to the United States. New York-based film critic Jordan Hoffman has seen it Photo: FIFA President Sepp Blatter (L) and French actor Gerard Depardieu arrive for the screening of the film 'United Passions' at the Cannes Film Festival May 18, 2014 (CREDIT: VALERY HACHE/AFP/Getty Images)
