Now most press launches involve a few nibbles, tea, coffee and if you're really lucky a glass of wine. On Friday the local launch of a brand new childrens book festival was marked with fizzy drinks, jelly, blancmange and sausages on sticks. The five day festival - called the Loogabarooga Festival - will take place in October and celebrates illustrated childrens' literature. It is of course the centenary year of what I would argue is the original and best series of illustrated books - ladybird books. The launch took place in the home town of Ladybird, Loughborough and I met up with local Mp and Secretary of State for Education, Nicky Morgan:
