The United Nations has called the epidemic of rape and sexual abuse in areas experiencing conflict a "moral crisis globally". Zainab Bangura, the UN's Special Representative on Sexual Violence, said the stories she heard from victims in areas of Syria and Iraq held by ISIS were harrowing and took a personal toll on her despite years of experience of war. "I was so traumatised - I took a plane and just went to Mecca," said Bangura. "I just sat there in the Holy Mosque and I cried and cried and cried and prayed. Because that's my own therapy - I have to find a way of dealing with it." “It’s so bad around the world. I don't know what we're going to do - that's my biggest problem," she added. This clip is from 5 live Daily Tuesday 9 June 2015.
