Energy Secretary: I wouldn't want wind farm 'behind my house'

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change has said onshore wind farms "have gone far enough" as the government cuts funds. Amber Rudd said, "we have to use our precious bill payer's to support a variety of renewable energy supplies" and feels enough money is being spent on onshore wind. It is estimated that 3,000 wind turbines are awaiting planning permission as the decision to cut subsidies has been made. She added, "i'm not against wind farms per se, but I probably wouldn't want it in the field behind my house". This clip is originally from 5 live Breakfast on June 18 2015.
