Paul Jerram, Head of Engineering Sensors at e2v in Chelmsford, which has some of its imaging sensor technology on board the Philae lander, which made history when it landed on a comet in November 2014, tells 麻豆社 Essex presenter, Mark Matthews, that many people were surprised that the probe has sprung back into life after seven months of silence. Paul also discusses a NASA mission to Pluto that e2v has supplied imaging sensors for. New Horizons comes to fruition on July 14th after a nine year journey through the solar system. It will take the most detailed photographs of the icy planet's surface to date whilst travelling at speeds of 30,000 mph.
