Wymeswold Cricket Pavillion

Jim Davis and Jo Hayward

Available for over a year

The legacy of the 2012 Olympics and England's great cricketing victory over Australia in the Ashes ten years ago were memorable events in themselves. But in one Leicestershire village it set the ball rolling on a project culminating in the building of a new sports pavilion which it's hoped will mark in new chapter for sports fans. Thanks to a Lottery funded Sport England grand worth tens of thousands of pounds and support from other sources, the new cricket pavilion in Wymeswold just north of Loughborough was officially opened yesterday. I caught up with Nick Shaw from the club, to find out how significant the building is - and how a very special addition to the front remembers a much loved former 麻豆社 Radio Leicester colleague.
