Sir Bruce Forsyth says Val Doonican was “one of the greats” after the Irish singer and TV entertainer died aged 88. The performer was a regular fixture on TV with The Val Doonican show which ran on the �鶹�� from 1965 to 1986, featuring his own performances and guest artists. Sir Bruce said Doonican’s calm nature was a great asset on television. “Nobody understands what it is like to be a relaxed performer – and to put that kind of show on” said Sir Bruce. “Nerves get into it, so to be that relaxed is a special talent.” "He had an inner warmth that you felt, that can come through on television for some people, for other people it doesn’t," he added.
