A school in Stoke has banned pupils from wearing skirts because they say too much time is wasted telling girls they're too short. The ban at Trentham High School comes into force in September where skirts are being replaced with 'business-like' trousers. The deputy head Lawrence Morris said it鈥檚 鈥渞idiculous鈥 that he and other teachers spend meetings discussing 鈥渢he length of girls鈥 skirts鈥 rather than how to 鈥渋mprove their performance鈥. He said 鈥渨hen we鈥檙e trying to do the job of educating young people, why waste time with things like that?鈥 The school has received criticism for 鈥渟tifling鈥 girls鈥 creativity, but Morris said the girls can express themselves by being 鈥渕athematicians, scientists鈥 and writing poetry, not through the length of their skirts.
