RIP HitchBOT, the hitchhiking robot

Newsday

Available for over a year

It's been a sad end for HitchBOT, the hitchhiking robot designed to test the kindness of humans by hitching across the US. After successfully making its way across Canada and parts of Europe, it came to its untimely end after being vandalised in Philadelphia. We hear from HitchBOT... and one of its creators, Dr. Frauke Zeller of Ryerson University in Canada. (Photo: HitchBOT before his American Dream turned sour. Credit: Meaghan Carrocci)
