Kenyan Artists Want More Airtime

Newsday

Available for over a year

This week a small group of Kenyan musicians staged a demonstration in the capital Nairobi, calling on radio and TV stations to give local artists more airplay. They believe stations play too much West African and South African music and they want 70% of airtime to be devoted to Kenyan music. Eko Dydda is a Kenyan hip-hop and gospel musician - does he agree that 70% of music should be local? (Picture: Eko Dydda / Credit: Eko Dydda)
