Lisa Hurd was born in Vienna to a Jewish family. She lived with her parents and grandparents in a two bedroom apartment and was very happy. Her mother and father sang her lullabies every night. It was a very warm and loving environment. The Nazi's had other ideas. Lisa's Grandparents and 47 members of her family were sent to die in concentration camps. Lisa and her parents managed to escape to England just before the outbreak of war and were to eventually settle in Leicester. In 1968 Lisa moved to Newfoundland in Canada, from where she joined Âé¶¹Éç Radio Leicester's Ben Jackson to talk about the extraordinary lengths her parents must have gone to, to protect her from harm...
