How a picture changed the world

Newshour

Available for over a year

A picture really can be worth a thousand words. It's something we're all painfully aware these days... The strategy of using an image to shock the world and change government policy was used to great effect in the early 70s when a then little-known group called Greenpeace set out to save the planet. Its president Bob Hunter called it a 'mindbomb'. From the start Greenpeace filmed all its activism; that means there's a huge archive. Director Jerry Rothwell has turned this material into an award-winning film, 'How to Change the World' - he and one of the founding members of Greenpeace, Bob Hunter's widow, Bobbi, spoke to Razia Iqbal.
