A PHD student at De Montfort University is hoping to prove that a traditional african folk remedy can cure infections, even cancer. Hajara Alfa is from Kuduna in the north of Nigeria. Generations of her family have been using the bark of the boswellia odorata for years, with very good results. Now she's imported the bark from back home and will be spending the next three years trying to prove scientifically it's healing powers.
