Its caused traffic chaos for what seems an eternity, but this morning there's some renewed optimism for motorists in Leicestershire using the dreaded Catthorpe interchange! A new link road connecting the M6 to the M1 Southbound opened overnight as part of a major road improvement scheme. Its just the first completed section of the whole project, but it's a milestone moment for a scheme which aims to improve the journeys for the 142,000 vehicles that pass through that junction each day. And it comes after reports that the government has ordered a ban on roadworks which last for miles and miles on motorways.
