Flying from Cape to Cape in a 1935 biplane

Newsday

Available for over a year

Swedish Pilot Johan Wiklund has set off on an old-fashioned adventure retracing a heroic flight from 1929. His hero, Gosta Andree flew from Norway's North Cape all the way to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. Now, Johan has taken on the challenge on a 1935 De Havilland Moth biplane. He is in Nairobi - about two-thirds of the way - and has been telling Lawrence Pollard about the journey so far. (Picture: Johan Wiklund in front of his biplane; Credit: Capetocape.net)
