The post-apocalyptic beaver

Newsday

Available for over a year

Scientists in Britain say they have discovered an extinct mammal that lived 65 millions years ago, just after the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs. Steve Brusatte, a paleontologist at Edinburgh University, says the beaver-like creature helps understand how mammals survived the asteroid impact and colonised the world as we know it today.
