"No One Cares About Us"

Newsday

Available for over a year

A year after the attack on the Yazidi minority by Islamic State militants in northern Iraq, thousands remain refugees and the fate of many others uncertain. The desperate plea of one woman for help for her people was replayed millions of times online. It was the voice of Vian Dakhil, the only woman representing the Yazidi community in the Iraqi parliament. She spoke in London to the Â鶹Éç's Chief International Correspondent Matthew Price. (Vian Dakhil, member of Iraqi parliament, testifies on the Islamic State group actions in Iraq during a US Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, December 9, 2014.
