Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need says that Christianity in the Middle East could die out within only a few years if the current exodus continues. The pre-war Christian population of Syria was 1.25 million, and today it is less than 500,000. Syrian Archbishop Jeanbart of Aleppo talks to Newsday's Lawrence Pollard, and says that if the exodus continues at the same rate it 'will be a kind of genocide' of the country's Christian community.
