Crisis Response Service

Jim Davis and Jo Hayward

Available for over a year

As we get older, we all become a little less steady on our feet and other health issues might mean we need some help at home every now and then. But that shouldn't mean immediately being rushed into hospital, if you have a problem like a fall. The reality of more and more of us living at home for longer has created the need for a new layer of health-care provision. Now, in the city, the Leicester Integrated Crisis Response Service exists to meet that need. Since its creation last year, it's helped nearly 4 thousand older people rebuild their confidence and return to independent living following a fall or a period in hospital. Jim went to meet Kate who lives in John Woolman House, a sheltered housing complex in the city.
