Calais Migrant Camp: Part 3

Jim Davis and Jo Hayward

Available for over a year

Across Europe the migrant crisis continues, as thousands make the perilous journey in the hope of finding a better life. Over the weekend tensions have been building in the Balkan states, as new controls between Croatia and Serbia sees thousands of migrants bottle-necked in relief camps on the Croatian border. Closer to home, you might remember an appeal on Radio Leicester for the public to donate shoes to the migrants in Calais. It came from Margaret Willis of Fenny Drayton - she's already been to the camps twice to give much needed everyday items, like shoes, clothes and most importantly food. Well after that appeal we collected hundreds of shoes and we sent our newsreader Nisha Chopra to Calais to help deliver them. In part three of her report, Nisha meets migrant friends that Margaret and Donna, another volunteer on the trip, have met from previous trips to the camps.
