Famine Warning for South Sudan

Newsday

Available for over a year

Fighting continues in South Sudan, despite the recent peace deal aimed at ending the nearly two year old civil war. And that is having a devastating impact on millions of people. The United Nations is now warning that regions in South Sudan could face a famine in the coming months. They estimate 30,000 people are in the 'Catastrophe' stage of food risk. Abdoul Karim Bah is the Emergency Response Manager for the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation in the country.
