Antipodean Rivalry

Newshour

Available for over a year

Australia and New Zealand go head to head in the final of the Rugby World Cup. Relations between the two countries are, for the most part, extremely close. Separated by the Tasman sea, they share a number of similarities - from their location and adoration of sport to their colonial British heritage which has shaped both countries. The High Commissioners - or Ambassadors - in London of Australia and New Zealand are Alexander Downer and Sir Lockwood Smith. Paul Henley asked how big a deal this match will be in New Zealand - where it will air at 3am in the morning local time.
