A relative of Leicester's most famous Suffragette, Alice Hawkins, has officially opened a new exhibition at De Montfort University's Heritage Centre. The 'Road to Reform and Contemporary Protest' highlights some of the campaigners and some of the most radical events in British Political history and explores how Leicester became something of a radical city. On display in the exhibition is a letter from Alice Hawkins herself as well as well as other Suffragette memorabilia.
